Brownsville Spay & Neuter, Inc. is a nonprofit, low-cost, full-service veterinary clinic located at 1050 MacKintosh Drive, Suite A, Brownsville, TX 78521, serving the Rio Grande Valley community since May 2010. The clinic's mission is to create a safer community for people and pets and to end the euthanasia of adoptable animals at the Brownsville Animal Shelter by offering low-cost, high-quality spay and neuter services, reducing the population of unwanted pets in the community. Since inception, the clinic has sterilized over 20,000 pets, administered over 50,000 rabies vaccines, and microchipped over 20,000 pets. Microchip records are maintained in an in-house database and the clinic works closely with the Brownsville Animal Regulations and Care Center (BARCC) to reunite lost pets with their owners. The clinic also works hand-in-hand with the local PAWS rescue group and maintains an exclusive cattery for kittens available for adoption at PetSmart locations in McAllen, Harlingen, and Brownsville. Kittens leave the facility sterilized, healthy, and ready for adoption. Veterinarians include Dr. Rivera and Dr. Fultz, who are frequently praised in reviews for their thoroughness, patience, and ability to communicate medical procedures clearly. The clinic also aims to educate the community about responsible pet ownership in a semi-tropical climate.
