Beta-lactam that binds PBPs 2, 3, and 4, inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis. Extremely broad spectrum including ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae. Stable against most beta-lactamases. Does NOT cover Pseudomonas or Acinetobacter (unlike meropenem).
