The clinic is founded and led by Dr. William D. Snyder, DVM — a native of Ohio who served 12 years as a Captain in the United States Marine Corps before earning his DVM from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Following graduation, Dr. Snyder re-entered military service as a U.S. Army Major in the Veterinary Corps, which brought him to El Paso and Fort Bliss, where he later retired. His passion for accessible pet care in the El Paso community inspired him and his wife to open The Veterinary Care Centers of Texas. Dr. Snyder has a special interest in treating exotic pets including scaly, furry, and feathered animals. The clinic's Office Manager, Lori, is a proud El Pasoan and retired city educator. Services include: wellness exams, preventive care (vaccinations, parasite prevention), USDA Health Travel Certificates, routine and emergency surgery (with laser cutting technology), veterinary dentistry (routine cleanings and emergency procedures under anesthesia), in-house diagnostics and full laboratory, laser therapy, digital X-rays, exotic and pocket pet exams, senior exams, emergency and critical care, fluid therapy, microchipping, heartWorm treatment, compassionate end-of-life care and grief counseling, dermatology, and an online pharmacy for pet medications and food. The clinic sees dogs, cats, and exotic/pocket pets. Walk-ins and calling ahead are welcome in addition to appointments. The clinic partners with El Paso Animal Services for discount and low-cost pet care events and supports the nonprofit Rescue Runners.
