The Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals (BSDPHA), run by the Bombay Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BSPCA), is one of Mumbai's oldest and most trusted animal hospitals, established in 1874. Located at Parel, the hospital provides comprehensive 24/7 veterinary care to sick, injured, and stray animals of all species — including dogs, cats, birds, and large animals. The OPD is run in collaboration with Bombay Veterinary College and treats approximately 50 animals per day. The hospital sees 9,000–11,000 animals annually and operates entirely on donations, offering highly affordable treatment. It is the only hospital in Mumbai that treats stray animals at no cost. Services include in-patient care, surgery, isolation wards, digital X-ray, ambulance, animal birth control (ABC) sterilisation, pet adoption, and a dedicated My Pet Ward where owners can stay with their hospitalised animals.
