Ridglea West Animal Hospital is a family-owned, full-service veterinary hospital located at 4404 Southwest Blvd, Fort Worth, TX 76116, proudly serving the Western Hills and Ridglea area of West Fort Worth. The clinic was acquired by Dr. Sarah Richey, DVM in March 2024, fulfilling her lifelong dream of owning a family-oriented animal hospital. Dr. Richey grew up in Northwest Tarrant County (graduate of Northwest High School) and holds a B.S. in Animal Science from Texas Tech University. She completed her veterinary degree at St. Matthew's University and finished clinical studies at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, with 10+ years of experience in private, corporate and emergency medical clinics. She works alongside founding veterinarian Dr. Craig Verwers, DVM (Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine; B.S. in Biomedical Science, Texas A&M), who has practiced veterinary medicine for over 40 years. Dr. Verwers is a member of the Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association, AVMA, American Veterinary Dental Society, and American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association. The hospital team also includes Olivia (Practice Manager), Sara (Lead Certified Veterinary Technician, Fear Free Certified Elite Professional & Fear Free Avian Certified), Nikki (Lead Receptionist, CVA), and Alyssa (CVA). The hospital provides medical care for dogs, cats, small mammals, pocket pets, birds (including pet fowl), and reptiles. Equipment includes full in-house lab, digital x-ray, ultrasound, radio and laser scalpels, and cold laser therapy. Services include preventative care, wellness exams, vaccinations, dental care, internal medicine, surgery, allergy and dermatology, geriatric care, emergency care (during business hours), and veterinary telehealth for established patients.
