Ahinsa Charitable Trust is a non-profit animal welfare organisation founded by Kaushal Shah in 2009 in Bhayandar West, Thane. What began as feeding stray dogs every Sunday grew into a fully equipped 400 sq ft animal and bird hospital, operated with certified doctors. The trust provides free treatment to injured street animals and birds across Mira Bhayandar. From 2009 to 2023, the trust has treated approximately 50,400 pigeons, 7,000 crows, 800 sparrows, 47,200 dogs, and 5,600 cats. Every month, 600–650 birds and animals receive treatment. The clinic is housed in a MBMC-allotted space below the flyover on 90 Feet Road and is backed entirely by donations and volunteers.
