Small Animal Hospital Mumbai (SAHM) is India's first and largest state-of-the-art veterinary referral hospital, established by Tata Trusts through the Advanced Veterinary Care Foundation (AVCF). Inspired by the late Ratan Tata's lifelong passion for animal welfare, the hospital was built at a cost of ₹165 crore and spans 98,000 sq ft across a G+4 storey building with over 200 patient beds. SAHM is exclusively dedicated to dogs and cats, offering 14+ specialities including 24-hour Emergency & Critical Care, Orthopaedic Surgery, Cardiology, Oncology, Advanced Diagnostic Imaging (CT, MRI, X-Ray, Ultrasound), Internal Medicine, Dental Care & Surgery, Ophthalmology, Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation, Pathology, Blood Transfusion, and Advanced Infection Control. Led by Director Dr. Thomas Heathcote (British veterinarian), SAHM has partnered with five UK veterinary colleges including the Royal Veterinary College London for training. The hospital also houses an in-premises 1mg Pharmacy and a dedicated stray dog welfare facility. SAHM is an independent, ethical veterinary referral centre grounded in Tata Trusts' values of compassion, courage, commitment, collaboration, and professionalism.
