About

Holt Veterinary Clinic is one of Dallas's oldest and most trusted veterinary practices, located at 5619 SMU Boulevard in the Upper Greenville neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. Founded in 1946 by Dr. Joseph Newton (originally named after Dr. Holt, who lived on the property), the clinic has been serving Dallas pets for over 75 years. Dr. David W. Baxter purchased the practice in 1982 and hired the current director, Dr. Geoff Bratton, as a 16-year-old high school kennel assistant. Dr. Bratton later worked as a technician and veterinary intern before assuming leadership in 2010. In 2014, the clinic moved into a new state-of-the-art hospital building on the same historic SMU Boulevard location. Current veterinary team includes Dr. Geoff Bratton DVM (Director), Dr. Amanda Caldwell DVM, Dr. Kiara Harden DVM, Dr. Kasey Kiefer DVM, Dr. Megan Watkins DVM, and Dr. Brent Salazar DVM. Holt Veterinary Clinic is AAHA Accredited (one of only 15% of animal hospitals in the US and Canada to hold this accreditation), Cat Friendly Certified (AAFP), and Fear Free Certified. The clinic is a member of the International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA), Texas Academy of Veterinary Practice, Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association, and the Certified Veterinary Assistant program. Walk-ins welcome Monday–Friday; Saturdays by appointment only. Services include wellness & prevention, testing & diagnostics, advanced care, surgical procedures, urgent care, pet boarding, pet spa/grooming, and online food & medication ordering. Features an online Pet Portal for records and appointment management.
