Woolton Veterinary Centre is the only independent, family-owned and operated small animal veterinary practice in South Liverpool, based in the heart of Woolton Village. Established in December 2018 (previously trading as Village Vets), the practice is led by husband-and-wife Directors Mr Alex McVey and Mrs Sarah McVey, both BVSc MRCVS, supported by veterinary surgeons Dr Alexandra McCormack, Dr Daisy Purcell, and Dr Emma Winckle, and a nursing team including Kirsty Barlow, Jessica Bowey, Adam Owens, David Roberts-Reynolds, Gemma Sherry, and Victoria Williams. The practice is RCVS-accredited, an Approved Veterinary Nurse Training Practice, and an RCVS Approved Graduate Development Practice offering EMS placements for veterinary students. It treats cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small furries (no farm or equine), with an in-house diagnostic laboratory, on-site x-ray, dental x-ray and ultrasound imaging, and a preventative healthcare plan called WVIP (Woolton Very Important Pets) covering vaccinations, microchipping, and flea/tick/worm treatment alongside discounts on consultations, dental treatment and food. The practice serves the wider South Liverpool community including Speke, Hunts Cross, Halewood, Garston, Gateacre, Allerton, Belle Vale, Mossley Hill, Calderstones and Childwall, and is rabbit-friendly and RCVS accredited.
